Tooth loss is a problem that affects many thousands of people every year and may occur as a result of tooth decay, gum disease or trauma.
A dental implant is a titanium post that functions as an artificial root for your tooth, it is surgically placed into your jawbone with which it fuses (integrates) over time to provide a solid support for a single crown, a bridge or a denture.
Dental implants provide a solution to missing teeth, which do not require preparation and damage to neighbouring healthy tooth tissue (unlike traditional bridges).

Rob will send details of your case and x-rays to Abs, our Consultant Oral Surgeon and Implantologist, for his opinion on whether an implant is appropriate for you, he generally requires a 3D scan to be taken prior to a consultation with him.
Then you would have a consultation here with Abs where he will carry out a full consultation, examine your mouth, x-rays and scan, then discuss the particulars of your case.
Implant treatment is generally carried out over a few visits. Sometimes crowns can be placed straight on top of the implant in the same appointment; however, normally it is wise to leave the implant fixture in place for at least 3 months to make sure it properly integrates with the bone. After this your final restoration will be placed, whether that is a crown, bridge or implant retained denture.
